Wow, I was not expecting the article writer to be on the forum already. That’s fantastic mate, it looks like so so much fun. I just came back from a trip to Cape Trib. I am aiming to do more and more trips and would love to see some photos of your trips and Trayon. Sorry to hear about your BT-50, a mate of mine had one and airbags in the rear, he went four-wheel driving with them at 40psi. The mechanic that had to reinforce and re-weld his chassis said that the air-bags is what did the damage, moral of the story --- when going off-road, deflate the bags and let the springs do the job they were designed to do. Hopefully the Landy will serve you well and give us some more photos and articles to read…..
Hi Jo,
Thanks for the kind comments - we had an absolute ball on the Eyre Peninsula. The only downside was the failure (again) of the BT50 on the way home.
Now our BT50 didn't have airbags and the chassis and rear diff housing failed - unfortunately it was just not up to outback travel with the Trayon. A new vehicle is coming soon - watch this space!
Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks Geoff for the link, I have an '08 BT50, fingers crossed, I'll keep a close eye on it and pay attention to the airbags which do a great job of keeping things level, I run them at about 30 lbs.

Hi Paul - is yours a single, freestyle or dual cab? If its the freestyle then it will be the same as mine. Depending where you take it, consider some strengthening near the front hanger on the rear springs which is where mine cracked through (see the pictures on the previous link/s). Try and keep the load down as much as possible, keep the airbag pressure down on the rough stuff, and I definitely hope you don't experience the failures I did!
Cheers, Geoff
